We have reported on the Amazfit T-Rex Dual Solar several times, with previous regulatory certifications already signaling an imminent launch by Zepp Health. Now, Gadgets & Wearables has spotted direct references to the Amazfit T-Rex Dual Solar in version 10.7.3 of the Zepp app, further pointing to a market release in the near future.

The update contains several new parameters, including SolarStatsActivity and references to a Solar Boost Mode. According to the report, in-app descriptions explain that activating this mode severely limits on-screen information - displaying only the time, current battery status, and sunlight intensity while disabling secondary features. Users will also be warned if charging efficiency drops too low.

By stripping down background processes and display power draw, Solar Boost Mode likely minimizes the smartwatch's overall power consumption, allowing solar energy to actively replenish the battery for subsequent, more demanding tasks. We previously highlighted this exact scenario in our analysis, noting that users could leave the smartwatch in direct sunlight to top off the battery - for instance, during an extended break on a trek. Additionally, references to watch_face_input_power and case_back_input_power remain intriguing. While unconfirmed, this terminology suggests Zepp Health may have integrated two separate solar panels into the device.
