LOGAN, W.Va. — Former Logan High School basketball coach Willie Akers nd his Runnin’ Wildcats would play before sold out crowds game after game the Logan Fieldhouse, Saturday, Akers will be remembered in funeral services there, now known as Willie Akers Arena.
Akers died earlier this week at the age of 89.
Visitation is scheduled begin 11 a.m. The time of service is 2 p.m. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
A large crowd is expected.
