At tonight’s Summer Game Fest presentation, Capcom kicked off the entire show by announcing perhaps the worst kept current secret in gaming: a new remake of Resident Evil: Code Veronica. It’s just called Resident Evil Veronica, and it’s launching in 2027. Check out the trailer.

Given that it’s been over 25 years since the original release of Code Veronica on the Dreamcast, it’s been a long time coming for Code Veronica to finally get a remake. With the quality of Resident Evil’s output over the past couple of years, there’s a strong likelihood that Resident Evil Veronica is going to be an instant classic.
