Some technical details surrounding the OnePlus 16 have emerged, indicating that the upcoming flagship smartphone will emphasize extended battery life and updated screen technology.

The release aligns with the company’s strategy to strengthen its hardware presence in Asian markets following its withdrawal from European and North American territories.

Expected to launch in October, the OnePlus 16 will feature a 6.78-inch panel utilizing LIPO screen technology. This development reportedly allows the display bezels to shrink below 1 millimeter, creating a fully symmetrical front design. Additionally, the screen is expected to support a high 185Hz refresh rate for smoother visuals.

According to the leak, under the hood, the flagship will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 processor, positioning it as a high-performance option suited for both heavy daily tasks and demanding mobile gaming.

Powering the device is a record-setting 9,000mAh battery, which promises up to two days of autonomy on a single charge. The battery system will also support 100W fast wired charging.

For photography, the rear camera array is slated to be anchored by a 200MP main sensor.

Software-wise, the OnePlus 16 is expected to be the brand’s first smartphone to ship with OPPO’s ColorOS 17, operating on top of Android 17.
