“Wonder Man” appeared to have everything going for it: strong reviews, an Emmy nomination for Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, and a Season 2 renewal from Marvel just two months after its Disney+ debut. Then, in July, the studio shocked fans by abruptly reversing course and canceling the series. While Marvel offered no public explanation at the time, Abdul-Mateen has now revealed what he was told behind the scenes.
