GB News sparked almost 4,000 Ofcom complaints from viewers who claimed the channel did a 'racist and hateful' report about Muslim grooming gangs.

Viewers tuned into Patrick Christys Tonight show on Friday (February 6), where the host shared his thoughts on Rupert Lowe's independent rape gang inquiry, as hearings began.

The former Reform MP launched a crowdfunder and raised £600,000 to support a national inquiry into gang-based sexual exploitation across the UK.

He started the project before the PM announced the government-backed national inquiry into grooming gangs and has since said his investigation will continue regardless.

Weighing in on the matter, Patrick said: 'You know, the fact that specifically around Eid, there's testimony that basically some Pakistani men in Britain celebrated Eid by inviting their dads, cousins, brothers, et cetera around so that they could abuse young working-class white girls.

'Years ago, I did an interview with a woman who was a grim and gang survivor.

'She remained anonymous, but she spoke about the religious motivations behind what her attackers were doing to have the sorts of names that they would call her.

'I kind of only want to repeat them on television.

'But the motivation was clearly religious and clearly racist against her because she was a young white woman.

'In her case, she actually wasn't from a sort of vulnerable background. She was of a fairly middle-class background.'

He continued: 'The evidence seems to be overwhelming when you hear these stories, that there is a religious motivation there.

'And it's not just that the authorities didn't want to act because they were afraid of being accused of racism.

'I think in some cases, they were quite clearly afraid of being called Islamophobic.

'The idea that you have to refer to them even as Asian grooming gangs, it's not Japanese people that are predominantly doing this.

'So even in the way that we've been repeatedly told, are we not allowed to even call them Asian grooming gangs?

'But even that isn't quite accurate, is it? So I think good on Rupert Lowe for actually taking the initiative and doing this because I think it's an absolute disgrace that the government haven't stepped up to the plate and done this properly because they can't be trusted.'

However, the comments saw a whopping 3,815 complaints made to the broadcasting regulator

This statement sparked criticism from viewers, with one writing on X: 'This is pure, dangerous bigotry. Stop spreading racist lies'

Patrick's comments saw a whopping 3,815 complaints made to the broadcasting regulator.

Furious viewers wrote on X: 'This is pure, dangerous bigotry. Stop spreading racist lies.'

Another remarked: '@Ofcom why are gbnews allowed to spew clear lies with no fact checked information on a topic that could cause riots?'

While a third said: '@Ofcom This is very concerning, hateful speech.'

A fourth penned: 'What I find deeply concerning is these people are more outraged toward the people speaking out than the atrocities towards these girls!

'Maybe they should direct their anger towards the disgusting perpetrators and put their focus on the victims and what they have endured!'

Addressing the complaints, Patrick posted on X: 'A lot of outrage about the below clip. Instead of calling me racist and reporting me to Ofcom, maybe people should educate themselves about what was actually said at @RupertLowe10’s independent rape gang inquiry…and then maybe ask some questions of their own community'. He also shared a quote from the inquiry.

Elsewhere, Holly Valance was cut off during a live interview on GB News after she used a slur about people with learning disabilities during a debate about the pandemic.

The singer was speaking after Apple Music briefly banned her 'anti-woke' song Kiss Kiss (XX) My A**e, which is a soundtrack to Pauline Hanson's new film, A Super Progressive Movie.

Presenter Josh Howie quickly apologised for her use of the term during the GB News show

Valance told host Josh Howie on Free Speech Nation on Monday: 'During Covid was the big like tester to see.. like the r****d meter. And Australia was quite high on that.'

Howie quickly apologised for her use of the term 'r****d' and said: 'Sorry for using that word, but that's okay, but... I think some people unfortunately might be offended.'

Valance said: 'Hey, are we not Free Speech Nation over here? Where am I?'

Howie replied: 'You're right, you've got me there. We are Free Speech Nation, apart from that one word.'

Reacting to the moment, one viewer wrote on X: 'Holly Valance really said filter off and hasn't looked back since. Dropping that on GB News before the watershed is the ultimate middle finger to the polite political establishment.

'She’s leaning fully into the Reform UK energy, making it clear she doesn't care about being cancelled because her base is already locked In.

'Whether you love it or hate it, she’s mastered the art of getting the whole internet talking about her on a Monday morning. The Kiss Kiss era feels like a lifetime ago!'
