A recruitment consultant who sued for discrimination after colleagues complained of her boasting about her 'gold star' sex life with a 'Johnny Depp' lover has told MailOnline she was the victim of a 'witch hunt'.

Charlotte Tilley was said to have showed off a sex tape she had made, edited photos of naked male torsos on her laptop at work and kissed another woman at the office Christmas party, an employment tribunal heard.

She was also said to have told colleagues that gold stars decorating her computer represented the number of times her boyfriend had triggered a particular sexual response in her during intercourse.

But managers at Gravitas Recruitment Group – an international firm specialising in technology and insurance recruitment — launched a disciplinary investigation, prompting Miss Tilley to resign.

The 29-year-old sued for sex discrimination and victimisation but an employment tribunal dismissed her claim on the grounds that she had 'a high tolerance of matters of a sexual nature'.

Miss Tilley yesterday afternoon denied boasting about or constantly discussing her sex life, or kissing another woman at a Christmas party, and said her problems started at the firm when the 'gossipy' office found out she and colleague Kieron Mattinson were dating.

They had both been dating other people at time but had a 'clear attraction' to each other, she said.

After some of the women in office heard she was dating the company trainer, Miss Tilley said they began pestering her with questions.

'One day three of them sat around me and starting hounding me with questions', she said. 'They were quite intrusive and asked what he was like in bed'.

She said she became so fed up with their questions and 'snapped' and, gesturing to gold stars stuck around her computer, asked them: 'What do you think they are for?' before giving them her 'joke' answer. But she said the comment was seized on by a rival who she had a 'clash of personalities' with.

She denied showing anybody a sex video - saying this was a particularly upsetting claim as she was the victim of revenge porn when she was 16 – or kissing a female colleague at a Christmas party.

And she said the 'naked torsos' referred to at the tribunal were a screenshot of actors Henry Cavill, Tom Ellis and Colin O'Donoghue on her personal laptop.

Following her resignation, she said Mr Mattinson also left Gravitas a few months later, disgusted at her treatment.

But the couple remain together and Miss Tilley is pregnant with 31-year-old's baby. They live outside Oldham, Lancashire.

Miss Tilley believes some of the claims against her may have been triggered by 'jealously'.

'Kieran was a senior learning and development consultant and was talked about it in the office,' she said.

'He had a bit of a profile and he was talked about by the girls.

'There were not that many attractive guys in the office.'

The hearing in Manchester was told Miss Tilley joined Gravitas - which specialises in technology, insurance and banking - as a recruitment consultant in housing in July 2022.

In December that year, the tribunal was told she 'kissed another women in full view of others'.

Following this, Miss Tilley claimed two fellow members of staff had asked her at work whether she was bisexual, which she confirmed to them but said it made her uncomfortable.

However, one of the colleagues - Cleopatra Mabena - said it was Miss Tilley who instigated the conversation, after revealing she had been 'matching with girls on a dating app'.

The hearing was told she had started a relationship with Mr Mattinson at the firm's AGM around 27 December 2022 but the couple had managed to keep it a secret until the end of January. The following month, the tribunal was told, Miss Tilley 'discussed her sexual partners with colleagues'.

Miss Tilley told the tribunal she was bombarded with questions such as 'What is he like in bed?' and 'Was he Johnny Depp?' She replied she did not want to discuss it.

A judgement outlined how after about five minutes of questioning, Miss Tilley made the comment about the gold stars.

The tribunal panel said Ms Mabena had recalled an occasion where Miss Tilley said the gold star stickers represented the number of times Mr Mattinson had triggered a particular sexual response.

In a meeting with a manager the following day, Miss Tilley admitted making the comment, claiming she said it because she was being harassed about her relationship and sex life by colleagues and hoped to 'shut them up' by 'shocking' them. But Miss Tilley was told language of that nature were 'neither appropriate nor professional'.

Just days later, bosses received complaints about Miss Tilley 'suggestively' hugging a male staff member and showing colleagues a phone video of her having sex with an ex-boyfriend.

Miss Tilley was also accused of editing a collage on her MacBook of pictures of naked male torsos, in full view of other colleagues.

Bosses launched an investigation into the complaints of her 'making unacceptable sexual comments, viewing inappropriate imagery during working hours and showing colleagues an inappropriate video'.

However, the tribunal was told Miss Tilley went off sick with stress and resigned in March 2023. She then launched her unsuccessful tribunal claim.

Dismissing her claims, Employment Judge Liz Ord ruled the consultant 'readily participated in conversations of a sexual nature...used explicit language and had images of naked male torsos on her computer screen saver.'

The judge said 'she had a high tolerance of matters of a sexual nature.'

Miss Tilley admitted yesterday afternoon that there were 'probably times I overstepped the mark' but said colleagues did too. She feels like she was 'driven out' of a company which she acknowledged was 'generally very fair' towards its staff, adding: 'In this particular instance they should have done more to protect me.'

Miss Tilley added: 'Recruitment is still a bit of male club and an alcohol fuelled industry so things like this can happen.

'I feel like I've been the victim of sex discrimination.'

Mr Mattinson and Miss Tilley are now planning to run a dog walking business together.
