Construction is underway on the new Altruria Elementary School, prompting temporary changes to campus traffic patterns and access as the 2026-27 school year begins.

Bartlett City Schools officials said the campus will remain operational while construction progresses, with safety serving as the district’s top priority. The district is working with its Operations Department and Linkous Construction, the contractor that completed the Bartlett High School renovation, to ensure safety of the students, and minimize disruptions for students, staff and visitors.

To accommodate construction, the district has implemented temporary measures that include construction fencing, revised bus loading and unloading areas, updated visitor parking, modified car rider traffic patterns, covered student walkways and designated construction zones.

Officials also announced that the pedestrian walkway connecting the rear of the campus to the adjacent neighborhood will be closed during construction. The walkway is expected to reopen after the project is completed.

Families are encouraged to review the district’s site logistics map before “B Ready Day” and the first day of school to become familiar with the temporary changes.

School officials said the construction project marks a significant milestone for the Altruria Elementary community and thanked families for their patience and cooperation during the building process.
