A man wanted in connection with a Friday night homicide in Northglenn has been taken into custody, according to police.

Alexei Munive-Rodriguez, 48, was wanted in connection to a fatal stabbing in the 10500 block of Irma Drive.

Munive-Rodriguez was arrested around 8 a.m. Saturday by officers with the Lamar Police Department, located about 215 miles southeast of Northglenn. Officers found Munive-Rodriguez hiding in a field, police say.

During law enforcement's efforts to locate Munive-Rodriguez, a Lincoln County sheriff's deputy attempted to conduct a traffic stop, but a pursuit ensued and he eventually crashed near Lamar and fled on foot, according to police. A statewide alert was also issued to law enforcement agencies.

Officers first responded to the stabbing report around 10 p.m. Friday on a report of a stabbing, and despite lifesaving efforts, the victim was pronounced dead, according to the police.

Munive-Rodriguez was "quickly identified" as the suspect. Police said Munive-Rodriguez was armed and dangerous and to not contact or confront him.

Munive-Rodriguez will be transported back to Adams County, where he will be held pending the ongoing investigation, police say.
