Dear SLC Pride Community,

I’m writing to sincerely apologize for my actions on Festival Sunday evening during the tear-down of SLC Pride. While serving as a Festival lead volunteer, I yelled aggressively, in anger, at members of Sappho SLC. That behavior was wrong, it was not okay, and it does not reflect the standard I hold myself to — or the standard this community deserves from someone in a leadership role.

I take full responsibility for my actions. I understand the harm this caused, both to the individuals directly involved and to the trust placed in volunteer leadership within our community. There is no context that excuses raising my voice in anger at fellow community members, especially in a space meant to be safe and welcoming for everyone.

I would welcome the opportunity to speak directly with anyone affected, to apologize in person and listen to how my actions impacted them. I also understand that trust is rebuilt through action, not just words, and I’m committed to doing that work — including reflecting on how I handle stress and conflict in high-pressure volunteer environments going forward.
