Lollar Pickups has introduced the two newest additions to the company’s broad line of premium handmade pickups: the sB Strat & Novel sB.Designed as drop-in replacements for guitars routed for Strat-style pickups or humbuckers, respectively, the single-coil sB design traces its DNA to Lollar’s popular dB humbuckers, using one of the dB’s coils for a single-coil sound that’s harmonically rich, with standout clarity and singing sustain and note bloom.
The sB story began earlier with the release of the sB Bass VI and Jaguar, which sparked customer interest in versions for Strats or humbucker-equipped guitars. In response, Lollar devoted R&D resources to meet that demand and expand the sB line. The sB design is a great fit for players looking for even response, touch sensitivity, and crisp articulation even in modern high-gain settings.
Lollar’s sB Strat and Novel SB pickups are available in 6-string format with AlNiCo 5 and 8 magnets depending on position, and a single blade pole piece for balanced string response regardless of radius or spacing.
You can pair the Novel sB neck with a dB bridge for an HS set, or the sB Strat neck and middle with a dB bridge for an HSS set.
