The Razer Viper V4 Pro made its debut back in March, succeeding last year’s Viper V3 Pro. At the time, the lightweight gaming mouse came in the standard black and white colours. But now, the brand has announced a new version as part of its Esports Green Collection. As with the previous members in the lineup, the Viper V4 Pro Esports Green Edition sports the signature striking Pantone 802C green finish.
The fresh coat of paint does add a tiny bit of mass to the mouse—this variant weighs 52g, as opposed to the 49g and 50g for the black and white versions respectively. Regardless, it remains lighter than its predecessor. New look aside, the new model retains all of the features of the standard Viper V4 Pro.
Image: RazerAs a quick refresher, the most significant upgrade for this generation is the optical scroll wheel, which it inherited from the DeathAdder V4 Pro. Furthermore, the mouse incorporates the brand’s HyperSpeed Wireless Gen-2 tech, promising 60% more power efficiency and 55% lower latency. Other features include a polling rate of up to 8,000Hz, as well as the Gen 3 Focus Pro 50K optical sensor, which supports 50K DPI, 930 IPS tracking, and 90G acceleration. Frame Sync is also on board to ensure consistent tracking.
It also comes with Gen 4 optical switches, which feature a redesigned click mechanism for improved responsiveness. On the subject of battery life, the company claims that it can last up to 180 hours at 1,000Hz polling rate. At 8,000Hz, this goes down to 45 hours.
Much like the other members in the collection, this iteration of the mouse gets a heftier price tag compared to its standard versions. As stated on the local website, the device retails for RM799. For reference, both the regular black and white iterations are available for RM769.
