Listen to Behind The Gun on TFB – https://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/podcast/
If you watch TFBTV Show Time, you've almost certainly seen Ian and Will before in my GunCon coverage over the past couple of years. Speaking with them on camera has practically turned into a running Stuff & Things Inc. segment at every GunCon, with one of the two of them showing off whatever unhinged conversion kit they've dreamed up next, from the Bizon-style STizon helical mag to the Gepard and now even a new multi-caliber monstrosity that’s actually pretty cool. What hasn't gotten much airtime is how STIncUSA actually got started, or what it takes to run an operation this small while putting out products the big manufacturers wouldn't touch. Ian and Will walk us through their origin story, how "we design and build whatever we want" became an actual business, and what building in a niche this weird looks like day to day. We also get an early look at their next project, the ST-579: a modular, serialized chassis concept with the first set of compatible uppers being 5.7x28 and 9mm.
On today's episode of TFB's Behind the Gun Podcast, we sit down with Ian and Will of Stuff & Things Inc. (STIncUSA) — familiar faces from TFBTV's GunCon coverage, now getting the full interview treatment. This one's a behind-the-scenes look at how a small outfit like STIncUSA came together and how they operate: the origin story, the day-to-day of designing and building products most companies wouldn't bother with, and how they've turned that approach into some of the more talked-about releases in the firearms space. We also get the first real details on their still-early ST-579 — a modular, serialized chassis/lower design in 5.7x28mm and .22 variants that they've been showing in prototype form at GunCon. If you've only seen their gear in action, this is the conversation that explains how it gets made and what inspired all of it.
