Now here is something cool. YouTube’s ‘PixelToLife’ has shared two videos, showcasing what a modern remake of Final Fantasy 8 could have looked like.

PixelToLife used AI tools to recreate many of the environments from Final Fantasy VIII. For instance, we get to see the Lunar Base, Balamb Garden, Dollet, Esthar City, and more.

Not only that, but he used AI to simulate a third-person perspective. On top of that, he added a HUD inspired by the one seen in Final Fantasy VII Remake and Final Fantasy VII Rebirth.

The end result is really cool, and it is something that a lot of FF8 fans will appreciate. And look, I know that some of you hate anything related to AI. However, these two videos are the closest we’ll get to a Final Fantasy 8 Remake. At least for now.

Speaking of Final Fantasy 8, another fan is using AI tools to recreate almost all of the cut-scenes. So far, he has released four parts, featuring over 40 minutes of footage.

From these two AI projects, the best is this one, which shows some gameplay footage. For the most part, it does not look like it was created with AI. It really feels like what Square Enix did with FF7. On the other hand, you can definitely notice the use of AI in the other project.

Anyway, this is something cool that may interest some of you. This is a cool way to use AI. At least in my opinion.
