The Utah Cultural Celebration Center is hosting two Pride-themed exhibitions this month, offering residents along the Wasatch Front a chance to experience community, history, and artistry under one roof. The center’s Crescent Gallery and Bridge Gallery are both showcasing Pride-focused works through June 23.

Pride Along the Wasatch” opens in the Crescent Gallery and features the work of award-winning photojournalist Robin Pendergrast. The exhibit presents 18 carefully selected images drawn from a personal archive of more than 23,000 photographs documenting PRIDE celebrations and gatherings across the Wasatch Front over the past several years. The images span people, places, and events that reflect the breadth of Utah’s LGBTQ community. The exhibit also includes a poetic definition contributed by Vermont-based author William Graham.

Across the building, in the Bridge Gallery, “Pride & Joy” showcases the work of artist-husbands Kevin Scott and Jose Castillo of Agile Art Glass. The exhibit features kiln-formed, pride-themed glass works alongside everyday functional glass art pieces.

Running concurrently in the same building is “Building Blocks of America,” a painting exhibit by artists from the Harman Senior Recreation Center, on view through June 24. The show, supported by a Creative Aging grant from the Utah Division of Arts & Museums, honors the nation’s 250th anniversary through individual paintings that together form a mosaic of American history.

The Cultural Celebration Center is located at 1355 W. 3100 South, open Monday through Thursday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Gallery-only hours on Fridays and Saturdays run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
