Tecno is gearing up to launch a new device, the Tecno POVA 8 Pro 5G, in India as well as other markets. This coming device will succeed the POVA 7, improving on performance but keeping some design elements.

This coming device will be a mid-range device, and while its pricing is not yet available, it’s safe to expect it to be priced similarly to its predecessor, the POVA 7. Tecno will focus on the design of this device as one of its main selling points, but the POVA 8 Pro 5G goes deeper than design.

Performance, camera, and battery will also be some of the points of attraction with this coming device. Let’s now have a look at what to expect from this coming mid-range device from Tecno.

With the POVA 7 series, Tecno introduced a new design language to the POVA series. The rear end of the device featured angular cut-outs that are reminiscent of some early Nothing devices.

The camera cutout took the shape of a triangle with rounded-off edges, housing three rear cameras. For the upcoming POVA 8 Pro 5G, Tecno hasn’t changed much regarding this design, as the device still features the same camera cutout as its predecessors.

However, what Tecno did change are the angular cutouts on the rear of the device. Tecno calls this an “Interstellar Spaceship Design” as it adopts bold, flowing lines, more minimalist than the design on the POVA 7 series.

Another design change to the POVA 8 Pro 5G is the rear camera cutout, which has dropped one rear camera and replaced it with a rear display. Tecno calls this display the “Alive Matrix Display”, and it can be customised to display different things.

The sides of the device are flat and hold a total of four button controls: two volume rocker keys, a power button (that stands out with its orange colour), and a customizable shortcut button. Colour options on this device are Graphite Black, Tundra Green, and Arc White.

Being a mid-range device, don’t expect the Tecno POVA 8 Pro 5G to feature some head-turning specifications. This doesn’t mean that the device isn’t impressive or doesn’t feature nice specifications for its price point.

• Durability: IP69K rating.

At this time, the pricing of this upcoming device is not available; however, it is safe to expect it to retail at a price similar to its predecessor. The Tecno POVA 7 launched with a price of $190 for its base storage model, so the POVA 8 Pro 5G might see similar pricing.

This upcoming device will be followed by a limited edition option, which might also be launched on August 18, 2026. The Tecno POVA 8 Pro 5G Trino Lamborghini Limited Edition will shake up the design of the regular POVA 8 Pro 5G and will also cost more.
