Apple released iOS 27 beta 6 today, giving developer beta testers the next preview update since iOS 27 debuted at WWDC. Developer beta testers can download the new beta now.

iOS 27 is a major iPhone update centered around Siri AI, Apple Intelligence, Liquid Glass refinements, and a long list of quality-of-life changes. Here’s what we’ve found so far in iOS 27 beta 6.

iOS 27 beta 6 is available now for developer beta testers.

You can install the update by opening the Settings app, choosing General, then Software Update. From there, select iOS 27 Developer Beta under Beta Updates.

Here are some changes we’ve found in iOS and macOS 27 beta 6 so far.

• Pinned Messages user interface bug from beta 5 appears to be resolved in beta 6.
• Updated iOS notification animation
• Redesigned stoplight window controls in macOS 27 Golden Gate
• Updated Preview icon on the Mac, matching iOS version from last week
• Golden Gate Day and Golden Gate Evening dynamic wallpapers join Sunset and Night versions.

Today’s release is the first in the cycle to come out one week after the previous beta. This likely means that we’ll see fewer visual changes and more under-the-hood improvements before the release version is ready to go.

Not every iOS 27 feature is available on every iPhone. The update supports iPhone 11 and later, plus iPhone SE 2 and newer, while Siri AI and other Apple Intelligence features require newer hardware.

Apple will continue beta testing iOS 27 throughout August. The official release for everyone should arrive in September alongside the new iPhone lineup.
