Jason Akermanis has accused Channel Seven's SAS Australia of being fake following his departure from the show.

The AFL star told 2DAY FM's Hughesy, Ed & Erin breakfast show the show's editing isn't accurate.

'They lie all the time. What they don't show you is when they record something, they put it to the test audience,' he explained.

'They don't show us doing 45mins of pushups and burpees on the sand [before a challenge].'

He also said the contestants were buried alive in a coffin for 15 minutes, but the show claimed it was 45 minutes.

'They are putting mayonnaise on stuff they're showing, but they aren't the other stuff that they probably should. The other stuff is really tough.'

It comes after Jason was branded 'soft' after the AFL legend lasted just one day on SAS Australia, insisting he does not 'have to prove anything to anyone.'

He was buried in the Jordanian desert before undertaking a task in which he jumped on and off a moving train.

However, the 46-year-old later complained of an injury to his toes and demanded medical attention at base camp.

Ant Middleton initially denied his request, telling his fellow officers: 'No 3 has come to us saying he has got a foot injury.

'He sprinted onto the train. Jumped off the train. Sprinted to me and then sprinted off. I didn't see any limping at all. I think No 3 is looking for a way out.;

He then sent for Jason, saying: 'Let me have a look. You sprinted fine on the train, jumped off the train.'

The camp doctor agreed with Ant's assessment, and when asked for the exact cause of the injury, the Bulldogs great was unable to pinpoint when exactly he picked up the injury.

'Put your boots back on. You won't even try some basic pain relief? You're getting way ahead of yourself,' he said.

Jason replied: 'I'm telling you there's nothing we can do if it's going to be that painful. So we either I get a discharge or I have to hand my... I say physically I can't do it.'

The footy great was sent back to his campmates, who were shocked to see him packing his belongings.

Jason returned to the yard where he removed his No 3 badge and voluntarily walked away from the process.

'You've gone soft,' Ant said.
