Balinese princess Lindy Klim has taken to social media to open up about the real reason behind her dramatic exit from SAS Australia after just two days.

The 42-year-old entrepreneur and ex-model revealed she sustained an injury to her shoulder during her appearance on the gruelling survival show.

Lindy shared a photo that showed her lying in a hospital bed, which appears to have been taken after surgery.

The Fig Femme founder's appearance on SAS Australia featured her non-stop complaints over the primitive conditions on the show's main site.

Meanwhile, Lindy had to battle allergies and complete brutal challenges while menstruating.

Lindy later called herself a 'Karen' who needed 'her comforts'. 

Friends and followers were quick to send messages of support after watching her on the show.

'Love how they conveniently left out the fact out that you injured your shoulder on the show and needed surgery for it, lots of love,' wrote one fan. 

'"Massive Karen to the core" my favourite line…omg I love you,' added another follower.

'Swimming fully clothed, dunked by the ocean, then swung by a helicopter in the air, all with your period… every gals dream,' joked another of Lindy's gal pals.

The same friend later posted a black and white photo of Lindy in her hospital bed with the caption:

'Also didn't plan to be by your side for shoulder surgery after the show...but that's the SAS life....thankful you are alive quite frankly.'

Lindy later shared her friend's post to her own stories. 

During her appearance on SAS Australia the celebrity struggled through the second day of challenges and admitted she was 'completely out her comfort zone' but said she was proud of her efforts regardless.

'I hate sand, and I hate being dirty, and I hate camping. I feel quite chuffed that I managed to get through two days, so I feel good,' she said as she left.

Lindy resides in Bali, but shares custody of her three children with her ex-husband, former Olympic swimmer Michael Klim, who lives in Australia. 

She was married to the Olympian for nearly a decade before they split acrimoniously six years ago.

The Klims announced their separation in February 2016, with Lindy previously describing the split as 'painful' and 'traumatic'.

However, the exes have since put their differences aside and now share what Lindy describes as an 'incredible' relationship.

She is now married to property developer Adam Ellis. The pair wed in August 2018, a year after they welcomed daughter Goldie.

Lindy was born a Balinese princess and grew up in the palace before moving to Tasmania with her mother.

Her uncle, Ida Cokorde Pamecutan XI, was the king of Denpasar.
