Aussie Olympic swimming champion Stephanie Rice moved to Dubai in December to restart her life.

And on Wednesday, the 35-year-old shared a photo as she explored the city and called it her 'new home'.

'My new home gosh I love it here!!!!' she wrote.

'There were a lot of people who couldn't understand my desire to leave Australia…and then there were those closest to me that understood completely.'

She continued: 'Either way, I'm so glad I listened to what was on my spirit and followed the call…I'm so happy here.'

Stephanie's post comes after she opened up about her recent spiritual awakening and decision to embrace faith in the wake of a series of personal challenges.

The former Olympic champion took to Instagram last week to share her journey with her followers.

'Two months ago I gave my life to God. The journey since then has been wild to say the least, but I wouldn't have it any other way,' she began her heartfelt post.

The champion swimmer described the period leading up to her conversion as the lowest point in her life.

Marked by a series of hardships including a battle with Covid, an injury during the filming of SAS Australia, and the emotional toll of reliving her pain in the public eye.

'Those few weeks before turning to God were my lowest yet. I can't tell you how broken I was,' Stephanie admitted.

She spoke candidly about the challenges of dealing with back-to-back media engagements and breaking down in tears during brief moments of solitude.

Despite her efforts to uplift herself through personal development and manifestation techniques, Stephanie expressed a profound sense of hopelessness.

Stephanie's turning point came with a loss of faith and hope, driving her to a moment of surrender to a higher power.

'He saved me. He is putting all the pieces back together again in the most beautiful way,' she shared.
