Held on June 29, 2026, the event highlighted the strength of community partnerships and the progress underway to create a more comprehensive service hub for individuals and families in need.

Food Storage for Non-Perishables

Constructed from the ground-level parking garage of our future headquarters, the newly-renovated 920-square-foot food storage space provides ample storage for nonperishable food items and essential supplies. The space also features a fully-equipped kitchen designed to safely store and prepare perishable foods, strengthening Pathway Homes’ ability to support clients through its expanding outreach efforts.

Thanks to a Collaboration

The completion of this phase of the building renovation project was made possible through an extraordinary collaboration between Home Aid National Capital Region, Dream Finders Homes, and a network of dedicated trade partners. HomeAid National Capital Region provided leadership and coordination, while Dream Finders Homes served as builder captain, guiding the efforts of 23 trade partners. Collectively, this group of partners generously donated $124,000 in labor, materials, and professional expertise to bring the project to life.

Ribbon-Cutting Marks “Renovate to Innovate”

The ribbon-cutting ceremony featured remarks from several community leaders, including HomeAid National Capital Region CEO Kristyn Burr, Pathway Homes President and CEO Dr. Sylisa Lambert-Woodard, Pathway Homes Board Chair Angie Garcia Lathrop, and Tony Cusomano, Vice President of Operations at Dream Finders Homes.

Speaking at the event, Dr. Lambert-Woodard emphasized the significance of the partnership. “HomeAid National Capital Region and Dream Finders Homes are helping us renovate to innovate,” she said. “Together, they have completed the first phase of converting a commercial property into a multi-purpose facility, beginning with a dedicated space to support our new Mobile Outreach Unit.”

This renovation represents the beginning of a larger vision. The garage conversion is the first phase of a comprehensive development project that will transform the commercial property into a mixed-use building housing Pathway Homes’ future headquarters, and 10 deeply affordable housing units on the upper floors. The completed facility will expand the organization’s capacity to provide housing and supportive services while strengthening its mission to help individuals experiencing homelessness, mental health challenges, and other disabilities, to achieve long-term housing stability.

Looking Ahead

The ribbon cutting at 4010 University Drive is more than a celebration of a new space—it is a testament to what can be accomplished when nonprofit organizations, businesses, and community partners work together. As renovations continue, Pathway Homes looks forward to creating a dynamic new headquarters that will expand services, increase housing opportunities, and help even more people build pathways to stability, wellness, and independence.
