Join the Society for Scholarly Publishing May 27–29, 2026, at the Gaylord Pacific Resort & Convention Center in Chula Vista, California, for our 48th Annual Meeting! This year’s program challenges us to confront a defining paradox: how to adapt and innovate amid disruption while remaining grounded in the core values of scholarly communication. With funding pressures, declining trust in institutions, constrained library budgets, continued strain on peer review, and the accelerating impact of AI, our community faces profound change.

This year’s program challenges us to confront a defining paradox: how to adapt and innovate amid disruption while remaining grounded in the core values of scholarly communication. With funding pressures, declining trust in institutions, constrained library budgets, continued strain on peer review, and the accelerating impact of AI, our community faces profound change. Together, when we gather in California, we will examine the implications for workflows, business models, research assessment, open access, AI governance, and relationships across the ecosystem.

Keynote Address | Wednesday, May 27

Recognized by TIME as one of the world’s most influential people in AI and named to Forbes’ inaugural 30 Under 30 AI list, Chinasa T. Okolo, Ph.D., Founder of Technecultura and Policy Specialist at the United Nations Office for Digital and Emerging Technologies, brings critical insight to conversations about AI’s role in scholarly communications.

Plenary Session | Thursday, May 28

Senior leaders will examine research assessment, mentorship, trust in research, open access, and AI’s impact on scholarly communications.

Previews Session | Friday, May 29

Rapid-fire presentations showcasing practical solutions designed to enhance efficiency, protect integrity, and strengthen partnerships across the ecosystem.
