7. The Alabama Ethics Commission executive director, Tom Albritton, stepped down as a scholarship fund board he is on reviews alleged misuse of funds, including $135,000 in scholarships awarded to Albritton’s own children.

6. Acting-U.S. Attorney General Todd Blanche said the Southern Policy Law Center grand jury-returned indictment is not politically motivated and called the conduct “extraordinarily egregious” for the organization accused of paying $3 million to informants associated with extremist groups like the Ku Klux Klan from 2014 to 2023, and they allege the group helped initiate the deadly 2017 Charlottesville rally.

5. Democrats wonder why they continue to be seen as anti-Semitic and anti-American as their latest media darling, and Democrat Party surrogate Hasan Piker, said Democrats have to lie to win, by hiding their views, “Obviously no person that’s running for Senate on the Democratic Party side is gonna be like ‘Hamas is a militant resistance group that is exercising their legal right to militarily resist against an apartheid state,’” and then said,  “We’re not there yet unfortunately. It’s the truth, and I will say the truth.”

4. Alabama Attorney General Steve Marshall announced a $12.2 million settlement with Roblox over their failures in securing child safety on the gaming platform, with all funds directed to a safe school initiative for funding school resource officers statewide.

3. First-time candidate Terry Waters is challenging three-term lawmaker Alabama State Sen. Greg Albritton (R-Atmore) in the 2026 Republican primary, said of legal gambling, “this is a hill I could live or die on,” and argued there is no such thing as a clean lottery bill, while Albritton says he supports letting Alabamians vote on gambling.

2. Virginia voters approved a redistricting referendum granting the Democrat-controlled legislature temporary power to redraw congressional maps through 2030, potentially shifting the state’s delegation from 6-5 to a 10-1 Democrat advantage,  maybe the clock has run out on Alabama and the state will not redistrict in 2026 due to the U.S. Supreme Court as minority is reporting slow-walking dissent, other states like Florida are also facing redistricting battles.

1. The U.S. and Iran continued ratcheting up the rhetoric as peace talks appear to be in limbo as the naval blockade of the Strait of Hormuz persists, with Vice President JD Vance involved in negotiations and ongoing discussions about the future of the conflict and a lasting peace, but Iran is now attacking ships in the Strait.
