The Mohammed Bin Rashid Space Centre (MBRSC) is set to participate in the 46th Scientific Assembly of the Committee on Space Research (COSPAR 2026), taking place in Florence, Italy, from 1 to 9 August 2026, where it will highlight the UAE’s achievements in space exploration while promoting Dubai as the host city for the next edition of the global event.

The international scientific assembly will bring together researchers, engineers, space agencies, academic institutions and industry leaders from around the world to discuss advances in space science, planetary exploration, Earth observation, climate research, space weather and related disciplines.

During the event, MBRSC will showcase key milestones from the UAE’s space programme, including artefacts that travelled into space during the Zayed Ambition 1 and Zayed Ambition 2 missions, offering visitors insights into the achievements of the UAE Astronaut Programme. The Centre will also present the scientific objectives of the Emirates Lunar Mission, ongoing work on Rashid Rover 2, and the scientific contributions of the Emirates Mars Mission’s Hope Probe, highlighting the country’s growing capabilities in planetary science and deep-space exploration.

In addition to its exhibition, MBRSC representatives will participate in technical sessions and the wider COSPAR scientific programme, engaging with international researchers to exchange knowledge, contribute to scientific discussions and strengthen collaboration with the global space research community.

The Centre will also use its participation to introduce visitors and delegates to Dubai, which will host COSPAR 2028, the 47th Scientific Assembly of the Committee on Space Research. Through an interactive visitor experience featuring the Dubai Scent Wall, Dubai Immersive Experience and cultural food and beverage offerings, MBRSC aims to showcase the city’s culture, innovation and hospitality ahead of the event.

Dubai’s selection as the host of COSPAR 2028 will mark the first time the prestigious scientific assembly is held in the Arab world. The event is expected to attract more than 3,000 scientists, researchers and space experts, further strengthening Dubai’s position as a global hub for major scientific conferences and international space-related events.
