I purchased an MG4 Electric Long Range 77 a few weeks ago and was curious to see the underside of the vehicle and how the common undertray issue had been fixed as per MG Australia bulletin AS-TEC-02112023-01.

My media contact at MG Australia arranged for a time when I could visit my nearby Sydney City MG Service Centre and be shown the fix by walking under the car while it was up in the air on a hoist.

Note getting your MG4 up on a hoist is not a standard free service! They showed me so I could take photos and share it with readers like you.

When I arrived at the Sydney City MG Service Centre, the manager Chris hoisted my car up as you can see below.

If you’re buying a new MG4 make sure you insist that the sales person agrees by email (so there is a record) that they will check the undertray of your car during pre delivery checks and fix it as per AS-TEC-02112023-01 if there is an area that looks like the photo below (credit: Eric Sweet)

As you can see in the image below the red arrows show what the MG4 AS-TEC-02112023-01 undertray fix looks like.

Looking at my car while it was up on the hoist you can see in the photo below where the extra bracket and 3 bolts have been installed so there is no sag in the undertray at all.

Reader Uday followed my advice a while ago and got the fix for their MG4. This is the paperwork Uday received.

I recommend booking in advance if you want to take your car to Sydney City MG Service Centre in St Peters Sydney as it is a small location and doesn’t have space to hold lots of cars before/after service work.
