Research Assistant wins 'doctoral award' from Spanish university

The Jaume I University of Castellon (Spain) has awarded a "Premio extraordinario de doctorado" (roughly translated as a Extraordinary Doctoral Award) to Ernesto Jimenez-Ruiz who is now a postdoctoral researcher at Oxford's Department of Computer Science.

Before coming to Oxford, Ernesto obtained his PhD at the Department of Languages and Information Systems of the University of Castellon.

The 2012 Extraordinary Doctoral Awards are given to people who defended their PhD thesis at University of Castellon in 2010 or 2011, and recognize outstanding dissertations. Ernesto was the joint winner in the Engineering category. He will be honoured at an awards ceremony on 14th September.

Ernesto's research interests cover several areas including bio-medical information processing and integration, ontology reuse, ontology versioning and ontology matching.
