The CHARA Array can image the inner structure of disks of gas and dust that form around young stars.
Images of the inner disk around the young and luminous star HD 190073. The images were reconstructed from data collected at the CHARA Array and VLTI. The images show a sub-astronomical unit cavity surrounded by a ring-like structure. The ring is nearly face-on with a radius of 1.14 au.The images show an asymmetric structure, which seems to move between the two epochs. Image credit: Ibrahim, et al. ApJ, 947, 68.
