TRAI rolls out 1601 series for utility, delivery calls

The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India has rolled out a new numbering system with the 1601 series, aimed at service and transactional calls from utility companies. This initiative also includes courier and logistics services, ensuring these communications are distinct from other sectors. The goal is to safeguard essential financial and governmental transactions, while the 1600 series will still be designated for BFSI and government communications.
