This year started on a good note for Kinetic Games as it established its own publishing label, Kinetic Publishing. According to the folks at Kinetic Publishing, their goal is to empower and support indie developers to create games that will be made available to a wide audience of gamers.

In 2020, Kinetic Games launched Phasmophobia across PlayStation, Xbox, and Steam. This horror game became an instant success, selling over 27 million copies globally.

Building on this success, Kinetic Publishing is now preparing to launch five more games that’ll all be available on PS5. Details on these coming games were shared via the official PlayStation blog, and here is everything you need to know.

The five games coming to PS5 and other gaming platforms are Contact Protocol, Crescent County, Shellbound, Aether Wizard Life, and Precognition. These games will be launched on PS5 as well as other gaming platforms between 2027 and 2028.

They cut across various genres from horror to sci-fi and even wizardry. Each game has its own story to tell; here is what to expect from each of these coming indie games that Kinetic Publishing is gearing up to bring to your screen.

If you’re in sync with space travel and sci-fi-related games, the Contact Protocol might just be your vibe. This game is said to launch on PS5 in Spring 2027. But what is it all about?

According to Kinetic Publishing, this game tests your ability to make the right decisions when under pressure. Your role in this game is an administrator, and you’re to assess and determine the intentions of incoming ships as you voyage to Jupiter’s largest moon.

You’re given a record, which you’re to compare with signals from incoming ships to determine whether they’re friend or foe. Now that sounds like a game you can use to get your nerves racked up as each decision is life or death.

Kinetic Publishing describes this game as oozing “good vibes”, and if that’s your vibe, then you can anticipate this one. Just like Contact Protocol, Crescent County will be released for play on PS5 in Spring 2026.

This game is about finding home as players ride the isle on their flow-state motorbrooms. It’s packed with gossip, local drama, flirty relationships, and so much more.

Here, players are parasites living on a large snail and exploring its way through the snail. The snail’s organs act as a labyrinth, and its biology reshapes the path available to players, hence making it more difficult to navigate.

Being a parasite, players are to fight off the snail’s internal defences, looking to eliminate them. This game will be made available on PS5 in Summer 2028.

Kinetic Publishing says that this game combines town-building, platforming, and exploration with action-RPG combat, farming and dating. Now that sounds like a lot for an apprentice mage who aims to uncover the secrets of mysterious wizard kidnappings in the town of Starfall.

Players are to pick daily tasks which are to be completed to proceed through the game’s stages. This game will be available on PS5 in Autumn 2028.

Now, if horror is your thing, then Precognition is a game you should anticipate from Kinetic Publishing. Here, players determine how the story goes and face the consequences for their choices.
