Ocean Resort resumed all gaming operations Tuesday, a day after a burst pipe caused major water damage.

Firefighters were called to the resort at 5:31 a.m. Monday, and found fire in the linen capture room, a city spokeswoman said.

The fire produced heavy smoke and burning debris, according to the report.

Suppression operations were successful, and fire was extinguished. But during that, a water pipe burst, causing a large ceiling collapse in the lobby.

The water also impacted elevator shafts and back-of-house hallways.

The damage closed gaming operations, canceling the planned Slot Tournament.

“As of today, Tuesday, July 28, “Ocean Casino Resort has resumed all gaming operations, including slots, tables games and sports betting,” a spokeswoman said Tuesday. “Ocean thanks its dedicated team members, partners, and the NJ Division of Gaming Enforcement for their swift response to restore operations.”

No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
