OJSC Atomenergomash, the machine-building division of Rosatom, has topped the 2012 Fundamental Efficiency Rating of 150 major Russian industrial companies prepared by International Information Group Interfax.
The rating is calculated based on the product output per each unit of consumed energy and natural resources, as well as the ability of the company’s technological ability to operate with lesser impact on the environment. In the course of preparation of the rating the business transparency degree was considered, as well as the trends of companies’ efficiency change beginning from 2000. The entire version of the rating is available at: http://interfax-era.ru/reitingi-predpriyatii/2012.
"During the years of presence in the market, the environmental ratings have become an integral part of regulation thereof, being an objective barometer of the real efficiency of the Russian business. Our approaches to the preparation of the rating methodology fully correspond to contemporary international standards of non-financial reporting”, said Alexander Martynov, Head of the Environment and Power Rating Agency Interfax-ERA. “Russian nuclear machine building is definitely a highly technological and energy-efficient industry characterized by high human and environmental safety standards. We are happy to see Atomenergomash as the rating successful participant”, Martynov added.
“In 2011 we carried out energy examination in all the major production units of our group, which revealed the objects of inefficient use of power resources. Basing on its results we successfully implemented measures for raising the energy efficiency. This helped reduce energy consumption by 21.3 per cent in 2012 as compared to 2009”, said Vladimir Razin, Deputy CEO – Production Director of OJSC Atomenergomash. “The high evaluation of our performance on behalf of the expert agency encourages our efforts aimed at maintaining energy efficiency growth rates and reducing environmental impact.”
