Police are searching for a Durham man wanted in connection with an Aug. 13 police chase and crash.

Wake Forest police are looking for John Flowers Jr., 47, of Durham, who has been identified as the driver who fled from Wake Forest police that day, leading to a crash on Raynor Street and Holloway Street.

The Aug. 13. police chase started around 7 p.m. in Wake Forest on Dr. Calvin Jones Highway near S. Main Street when an officer noticed careless and reckless driving. The chase, which involved the State Highway Patrol and Wake Forest police, continued into Durham.

The Wake Forest officer crashed into a Toyota Highlander, which was not involved in the chase, when crossing an intersection with a red light. The suspect, later identified as Flowers, fled the scene.

The woman driving the Toyota and a child passenger were taken to a hospital with minor injuries. The police officer was not injured.

Police are still searching for Flowers, who faces multiple charges, including flee/elude arrest with a motor vehicle, reckless driving, speeding and driving with a revoked license.

Flowers has also been identified as a person of interest in a series of thefts at home improvement stores throughout the area, police said.
