He's the former party boy looking to finally start a family and settle down.

But on Wednesday's episode of Married At First Sight, Jason Engler's past finally caught up with him, as his dad revealed he once picked him up off the gutter.

After hitting it off with his busty school teacher 'wife', Alana Lister, things got rather awkward when it came time to sit down with his parents over dinner.

In an effort to get to know Alana's new groom, her bridesmaids asked Jason what his hobbies were.

'Be honest, come on,' called out his mother from the other side of the table, while his father added, 'Don't answer it, Jason.'

Alana's bridesmaids then started laughing nervously, before they noted: 'That's not a good sign.' 

'I mean, recently my hobbies are work during the week and then go out on the weekends, pretty much that's it,' said Jason. 

'Every single weekend, I'm going out. Going out a lot the last four years.'  

Jason then told the show's producers: 'Partying has been my hobby. That's not the impression I want to give but that's been it pretty much.' 

'I wasn't going to bring up that time I had to pick you up from lying in the gutter somewhere,' added his dad.

A humiliated Jason seemed stunned by his father's embarrassing admission, and told him he didn't want to talk about it.  

Unsure what to think, Alana told producers: 'It definitely concerns me that he is mentioning the partying, because it's, like, a really big part of his life.'

'I'm not the partying type and I don't like that side of things at all,' she said.

'The last thing I want is for someone who isn't ready to settle down. If he's not serious and genuine, that's not what I'm looking for.'
