John Barrowman crushed raw egg on his face before he competed with Rochelle Humes in a hilarious egg and spoon race on Thursday's This Morning.

The Easter Egg-lypics left the stand-in presenters, 52 and 30, giggling when they threw themselves into the challenges live on-air.  

In funny scenes, the Doctor Who star was left smothered in gooey dripping yolk when he smashed the last egg from the box into his forehead during the game.

Rochelle erupted into a fit of uncontrollable laughter when the Scottish-American native was covered in the soggy substance. 

The aim of the challenge was to crack an egg at a time on their forehead; only one of the box of six was raw and the five remaining eggs were boiled. 

Quickly recovering his cool, the actor was raring to go when he zoomed across the studio floor during the fast-paced egg and spoon race with Rochelle.

Clad in bunny suits, two This Morning members were tasked with catching the eggs tossed by the presenting duo.

Competitive by nature, Rochelle was very cheeky when she tried to conceal the amount of eggs her bunny had managed to catch.

However, her playful scheming ways were soon exposed and John was announced as the winner of the second challenge.  

John and Rochelle were stepped into the shoes of Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby in the lead up to Easter weekend.

The I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here star had previously presented some of the This Morning segments with Emily Atack.

They interviewed Megan Barton Hanson about her allergic reaction to hair dye and discussed Bananarama's upcoming gig at Glastonbury with the band.
