He's not one to shy away from controversy.

And John Barrowman, 55, has seemingly joined in on the Britain's Got Talent debate around golden buzzer star Loren Allred -interestingly admitting he's 'always been a fan'.

Loren was given the golden buzzer by Amanda Holden on Saturday evenings show, after revealing she was the original singer behind The Greatest Showman's song Never Enough - but was hit with some complaints by fans.

Amanda's choice sparked controversy amongst fans, with some claiming the show is a 'fix' as Loren is already well known.

John added fuel to the fire on Wednesday as he commented on Loren's Instagram picture - which she posted to thank fans for their support.

He wrote: 'I have always been a fan and think it's amazing you are getting your time in the spotlight. Sing Sing Sing let that voice Soar.'

While the message from John was of support, it seemingly confirmed that Loren is already a star aside from the talent show, as he noted he had 'always' been a fan.

Amanda Holden also seems to be sticking by her golden buzzer choice, commenting a clapping hands emoji on one of Loren's previous posts. 

After recording the vocals for The Greatest Showman, Loren appeared on The Voice and was mentored by Maroon 5's Adam Levine - with many fans dubbing her golden buzzer 'unfair' since she is a professional singer.

Talking to The Sun, Loren hit back at the hate, saying: 'I am an unsigned, independent artist still trying to make a name for myself' 

John's support of Loren comes as he is fresh out of his own controversy, with claims of his 'inappropriate behaviour' on the set of BBC drama Torchwood forcing him to issue.

This controversy led to him being dropped from Dancing on Ice, with John telling Lorraine last year that it had been 'exaggerated'.
