Argos has revealed its predictions for the 15 toys that will be most sought-after this Christmas, including extravagant LEGO sets costing nearly £200 - but there are cheaper options too.

Argos has revealed its predictions for the top 15 toys that will be most desired by children this Christmas.

For parents looking to get a headstart on festive shopping, the list may provide some inspiration - and while some items selected may be out of many shoppers' budgets, people will be relieved to see a few cheaper options.

Amid a cost-of-living crisis, several items on the list are under £20 - although for the most part the cheaper toys are aimed at younger children.

For the little ones, there are cuddly options such as the Squishmallow Marybeth the Octopus and the and the The Jiggly Pets Gigi The Giraffe. The Chad Valley Dinosaur Waterfall Bath Toy bath toy is also a good option for younger children.

Argos's predictions for top 15 most popular toys 

The Chad Valley Dinosaur Waterfall Bath Toy retails at just £10 and is the cheapest item on the list, for parents of tots looking to save a little money

The Squishmallow Marybeth the Octopus 12-inch toy retails at £18 (left) while the Fisher-Price DJ Bouncin' Beats Musical Toy (right) costs £14

The options for younger children vary in price, from items under £20 like Squishmallow's Marybeth the Octopus at £18, to more expensive choices such as the Fisher-Price DJ Bouncin' Beats Musical Toy which costs £45.

The Pokemon TCG: Tin costs £19.00 and will be a firm favourite with children who love trading and playing Pokémon cards

The LEGO Technic McLaren Formula 1 2022 Race Car Model Set costs £170.00 and is the most expensive item on the list 

Retailing at £65, the Hot Wheels Action Spiral Speed Crash Track Set is one of the pricier items on Argos's list

Gabby's Purrfect 61cm Dollhouse, which comes with 15 pieces, costs £80

The Bluey S7 School Playset and Adventure Bus Bundle costs £75 and comes with the figures Bluey, Bingo, Chloe, Snickers, Coco and their teacher Calypso

Some of the more expensive items include toys designed at children of an older age, such as the LEGO Icons Optimus Prime Transformers Robot Model Set, which costs £160 and the The LEGO Technic McLaren Formula 1 2022 Race Car Model Set costs £170.00, making them the most expensive items on the list.

There is a slightly cheaper LEGO option available in the  Harry Potter The Ministry of Magic Modular Set which costs £72.00, but this still may not be an option for people on a lower budget.

Girls and boys who love the Transformers franchise will no doubt love this LEGO Icons Optimus Prime Transformers Robot Model Set, which costs £160

Some cheaper options include the Paw Patrol Big Truck Pups set at £18.00 and the Sink N' Sand Game at £20.00

The Nerf Elite 2.0 Ranger PD-5 Blaster also comes in at a slightly cheaper price, costing £18.00

The LEGO Harry Potter The Ministry of Magic Modular Set has been reduced from £90.00 to £72.00 

Barbie fans will love this Barbie Cutie Reveal Snowflake Sparkle Husky Doll, which costs £32.00 

The Jiggly Pets Gigi The Giraffe costs £30.00, and she dances at the press of a button
