Celebrating The UWI’s Global Recognition in the 2026 SDG Teach-In Campaign

Дата публикации: 17-06-2026 20:13:11

The Office of the Board for Undergraduate Studies is pleased to share that The University of the West Indies (The UWI) has achieved an outstanding milestone in the 2026 Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Teach-In Campaign. In April it was announced that The UWI secured 3rd place globally among 68 participating institutions across 23 countries, with 845 educators pledging to include one or more of the SDGs in their teaching. This recognition reflects a significant advancement from our 9th-place ranking in 2025 and highlights The UWI's growing leadership in sustainability-focused education.
The SDG Teach-In, led by Students Organising for Sustainability UK (SOS-UK), is an annual global campaign that invites educators to embed the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into teaching, learning, and assessment practices.
The initiative encourages educators across all disciplines and levels to connect academic content with real-world social, environmental, and economic challenges, while equipping students with the knowledge and skills to advance sustainable development.
The UWI’s success in the 2026 campaign was made possible through the collective efforts of colleagues across all five campuses. Their commitment to integrating sustainability principles into curricula continues to strengthen the University’s reputation as a regional and global leader in sustainable development education.
The Office of the Board for Undergraduate Studies extends sincere appreciation to the following academic staff members who participated in this year’s Teach-In campaign:
