The price tag on Trump Media’s “Truth API” ran up to $100,000 a month, or roughly $1.2 million a year, for faster access to posts from Donald Trump and other big accounts on Truth Social.

The company announced the developer program in 2024, pitching tiered access to the platform’s data. Because Trump’s posts have a long record of moving stocks, crypto, and prediction markets, critics zeroed in on the higher tiers as a way to buy an information edge.
That’s the read Gillis and Rogan ran with. Gillis called it “literally insider trading,” and Rogan came back with “How’s that legal?”
The service hasn’t been shown to deliver private, pre-publication drafts before they hit the public feed, which is the part that would raise the sharpest securities questions. What’s public did follow: investor and class-action suits accusing Trump Media of misleading statements about the API and its revenue potential. No criminal insider-trading charges have been filed over the product.
