Seven teenagers will remain behind bars after they were charged with murder over the alleged deadly assault of a young man in a Brisbane college car park.

Charges against the group, including two girls aged 14 and 15, were upgraded after a 27-year-old man, identified as Oliver Conroy by The Courier Mail, died following the alleged fatal incident in the city's inner north.

The teenagers face life sentences under controversial 'adult crime, adult time' laws introduced by Queensland's Liberal National government.

They are accused of assaulting Mr Conroy and stealing his blue hybrid ute - a 2025 BYD Shark 6 - at Kelvin Grove State College staff car park at 10.30pm on July 24.

Mr Conroy was taken to hospital and died almost a fortnight later on August 6.

A total of nine children, six boys and three girls, were initially charged with a number of offences over the attack.

A week after Mr Conroy's death, on Thursday, seven teenagers - five boys aged 15 to 17 and the two girls - were each charged with an added count of murder.

Police allege at least two girls had organised to meet Mr Conroy for a fake date using social media app Snapchat, according to the Courier Mail.

Family members of the accused teenagers were seen outside Brisbane Magistrates Court on Friday, where they were remanded into custody

Police allege Mr Conroy was punched and kicked after the group set upon him when he arrived at Kelvin Grove.

One of the teenagers allegedly filmed the incident, during which police say Mr Conroy was put in a headlock and hit on the head with his motorcycle helmet.

Police allege the 27-year-old held onto his car as the group attempted to flee in the vehicle and was dragged almost one kilometre.

Mr Conroy allegedly fell from the car, was run over and left lying in the car park where emergency services later found him.

The case increases the number of juveniles charged with murder under the new Queensland laws from four to 11.

It also marks the first two female juveniles to be charged with murder under the legislation.

Magistrate Anne Thacker remanded a 17-year-old boy in custody after he appeared by videolink at Brisbane Magistrates Court on Friday. His next appearance is set for August 24.

Six co-accused, who did not appear, were also remanded in custody with their matters adjourned until September 1.

Queensland Police are seeking two potential witnesses who were driving in the area

Police are appealing for July 24 dashcam and CCTV footage captured on Kelvin Grove's Victoria Park Road between 9.30pm and 10.30pm, and on Holland Park West's Barter Avenue between 11.30pm and 11.50pm, as part of the investigation.

They hope to speak to a potential witness who was driving a dark-coloured SUV on Victoria Park Road.

Police are also seeking witnesses and footage between 8.10pm and 8.40pm on Kelvin Grove Road, near the Musk Avenue intersection in Kelvin Grove.

Two potential witnesses have been asked to come forward after they were seen driving in the area.

The first was last seen driving a dark-coloured SUV along Victoria Park Road, Blamey Street and Musk Avenue at 10.15pm.

The second was last seen driving a blue sedan at 10.16pm on Carroway Street at the Victoria Park Road intersection.
