Newcastle United are said to be interested in Johan Manzambi, who has impressed for Switzerland at the World Cup.

After an impressive 2025/26 campaign with SC Freiburg, Johan Manzambi has carried his strong form into the World Cup, where he has scored three goals and provided one assist in three games for Switzerland so far.

According to Sky Sports and the Daily Mail, the 20-year-old midfielder has emerged on Newcastle United’s radar, with the Premier League side weighing up a move for him.

Reports in the English media suggest that a fee of around €46-48 million could be enough to convince Freiburg to sell Manzambi.

Manzambi is under contract until 2030 with the Breisgau club and has no release clause.

He racked up seven goals and nine assists in 47 appearances last season.
