According to sources at Sport BILD, Ipswich Town are making a considerable push to sign SC Freiburg's Derry Scherhant.

However, Freiburg see no need to simply let their key forward go, with coach Julian Schuster planning with him for the upcoming season.

The tabloid reports that Freiburg are demanding between €16.5 and €17.5million for the club to even consider a sale this summer.

The attacker himself could certainly imagine a move to England, but the Breisgau club would only consider selling if the price is right.

Financially, the transfer would undoubtedly be worthwhile for Scherhant, however sporting aspirations also comes into play here.

With Ipswich, he would likely only be fighting for survival, while Freiburg is expected to be in contention for European qualification again.
