The Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK)-led Tamil Nadu Government is set to host the Vettri Tamil Nadu Investment Conclave 2026 in Chennai on Thursday, its maiden investment conclave, bringing together global investors, industry leaders, policymakers, entrepreneurs and innovators.

Nearly 100 MoUs with an investment potential of over ₹67,000 crore and employment generation of nearly one lakh is expected to be signed at the event, said sources.

This will be the new government’s first such initiative after coming to power three months ago.

The conclave will involve the presence of Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay and will likely signal the new Government’s focus areas of industrial development.

Sources told businessline that as part of the State’s focus on inclusion, the investments will be spread across 20 districts, with more than half the projects outside the traditional core industrial belt. Many are foreign-headquartered projects from more than 15 countries, those in the know said.

Data centres, automotive companies, the renewable energy sector, electronics/semiconductors, aerospace, and GCCs are all on the list of investment MoUs to be signed on Thursday. “More than half the projects are greenfield, and a significant number of companies are coming to Tamil Nadu for the first time,” the person said.

The event will feature major investment announcements, strategic partnerships, discussions, and interactions between government and industry, reinforcing Tamil Nadu’s position as one of India’s leading industrial and investment destinations, Industries Minister S. Keerthana said in a statement. “Our government has always believed that sustainable economic growth is built on partnership, trust, and execution. The Vettri Tamil Nadu Investment Conclave 2026 reflects our ambition to create opportunities, generate quality employment, and build industries that will define the future,” she added.
