"Loading the cartridges..." Neon has debuted a new 60-second promo featurette for the action sci-fi movie Hope from Korean filmmaker Na Hong-jin (also of The Chaser, The Yellow Sea, The Wailing). Landing in US theaters this September! Get ready for an epic big screen experience! This premiered at the 2026 Cannes Film Festival where it caused a storm with completely polarizing reactions from the first screening. (Here is my mixed review.) A mysterious discovery is made on the outskirts of a remote harbor town when a monster suddenly attacks. The residents find themselves in a desperate fight for survival against something they've never encountered before – alien creatures that have crashed nearby. 👽 Hope stars Hwang Jung-min, Zo In-sung, and Jung Ho-yeon, with special appearances by Taylor Russell, Alicia Vikander, Michael Fassbender as aliens. Interestingly, the US trailers keep the big alien creatures mostly hidden except for a few shots, whereas the recent official Korean trailer shows way more of them. This video below is way too short! I need a full-on 30 minute look at how Director Na pulled off so many of these amazing action shots. Here's the behind-the-scenes promo vid for Na Hong-jin's sci-fi action movie Hope, from Neon's YouTube: You can rewatch the epic festival teaser for Na Hong-jin's Hope movie right here or full Korean […]

In the remote village of Hope Harbor, near the heavily fortified Demilitarized Zone (DMZ), the community is thrown into chaos when a tiger is suspected to have appeared and local police chief Bum-seok is alerted. But what begins as a local emergency soon spirals into a deeper, more terrifying mystery, one that forces the town's residents to confront the unknown. Hope, also known as 호프 in Korean, is written and directed by the acclaimed Korean filmmaker Na Hong-jin, director of the films The Chaser, The Yellow Sea, and The Wailing previously, plus other short films. Produced by Na Hong-jin and Kim Sae-mi. Made by Forged Films & Plus M Entertainment in Korea. This originally premiered at the 2026 Cannes Film Festival playing in the Main Competition (read our review) and it also played at the 2026 New York Asian Film Festival. It opens first in Korean cinemas starting July 15th this summer. Neon will then release Na Hong-jin's Hope action movie in US theaters starting on September 9th, 2026 coming soon. Who's planning to watch it?
