A salad place on the North Shore is closing its doors amid the current lettuce scare.

Build-a-Salad was located at the site of the Long Horn restaurant, which had been in business for 65 years.

Build-a-Salad officials said, "Due to the lettuce epidemic we have decided to close our doors. We appreciate everyone that supported us and the ones that tried to support us during this. It’s tough being a salad restaurant when everyone is scared of lettuce so the decision was made for us. We did have some great times before this.

"Thank you again and we will see you with new adventures in place."
