Black Bear has released the official trailer for ‘Wicker,’ an eccentric comedy-drama that blends romance, satire and folklore. We reviewed the film earlier this year.

Directed by Eleanor Wilson and Alex Huston, ‘Wicker’ is an audacious comedic fable exploring love, marriage and the absurd expectations of society. Adapted by the filmmaking duo from Ursula Wills’ acclaimed short story ‘The Wicker Husband,’ the film brings together an exceptional cast led by Academy Award winner Olivia Colman, Alexander Skarsgård and Peter Dinklage.

The story follows an ostracised fisherwoman, played by Olivia Colman, who commissions the village basketmaker (Peter Dinklage) to craft her the perfect husband from wicker. However, when her unusual companion, portrayed by Alexander Skarsgård, comes to life and exceeds every expectation with his soulful charm and remarkable presence, he stirs emotions not only within his new wife but throughout the entire community. As jealousy, fascination and desire spread through the village, long-held traditions and social conventions begin to unravel in increasingly unexpected ways.

Alongside Colman, Skarsgård and Dinklage, the ensemble cast includes Elizabeth Debicki, Richard E. Grant, Nabhaan Rizwan, Marli Siu and Ella Bruccoleri.
