Coneflower Festival draws festive summer shoppers to Norton's Chizzelwood in Alexander

The third annual Coneflower Festival brought dozens of local crafters, food vendors and live music to Norton's Chizzelwood on Saturday.The outdoor craft and vendor show, held at 4309 Gilhooly Road in Alexander, featured more than 40 local crafters and artisans, along with food trucks, ice cream, a kids' play zone, basket raffles and live music.The festival takes its name from the coneflower, which blooms in July and is also featured in the property owner's garden.Proceeds from the event benefit local nonprofits, including Crossroads House, Gateway House, the Alzheimer's Association and the Autism Nature Trail.The festival is held on the grounds of Norton's Chizzelwood, a women-owned business that builds handmade woodcrafts, small cabinetry and outdoor furniture.
