Former children's camp employee charged with child pornography possession: Police

Дата публикации: 10-06-2026 11:15:37

The Coventry Police Department arrested a former employee of Channel 3 Kids Camp on Saturday following discovery of child pornography possession.
In January 2025, the camp’s IT vendor discovered that computers being destroyed by the camp contained potential images of child sexual abuse material (CSAM).
Following the discovery, the camp reported the incident to police.
Channel 3 Kids Camp was sold to the Justice Education Center in 2024 and is no longer in operation. The computers were being disposed of after the sale of the camp, according to police.
An examination by the Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection Forensic Lab revealed 12 suspected CSAM files and 4,262 non-CSAM files classified as “child-exploitative or age indeterminate,” police said.
Police identified Mark Harrington, a 62-year-old man from Vernon, as a suspect.
A search warrant of Harrington’s residence was obtained, and several electronic devices were seized, according to police.
Police said they found eight files they determined to be CSAM and thousands of child-exploitative images.
Police said that evidence leads them to believe the victims in the images are not children who attended Channel 3 Kids Camp and that they were instead obtained from the internet.
Harrington is charged with possession of child sexual abuse material in the third degree. He posted a $20,000 bond and is set to appear in Rockville Superior Court on Wednesday, June 17.
