NAMIWalks, the signature fundraising event of NAMI, the National Alliance on Mental Illness, will host a community kickoff event to officially launch the 2026 NAMIWalks Chattanooga season on Wednesday, Aug. 19 at Events By Feed, 201 West Main St. in Chattanooga, beginning at 5:30 p.m.

"NAMIWalks is one of the nation’s largest and most vibrant mental health event series, bringing people together in communities across the country to raise awareness, reduce stigma and support NAMI’s mission of Mental Health for All," officials said.

"Participants, volunteers and supporters gather through NAMIWalks to raise funds that power NAMI’s free mental health programs, support groups, education classes and advocacy efforts - while sharing stories of hope and building a strong sense of community.

"The 2026 theme, 'Together, We Are NAMIWalks,' celebrates the collective strength of individuals, families and communities who step forward to support mental health and remind others that they are not alone."

The NAMIWalks Chattanooga Kickoff will feature refreshments, activities and information about NAMI Chattanooga and the upcoming walk event. The kickoff is free and open to the public, but you must RSVP by Aug. 14 to attend at Operations@NamiChattanooga.org.

NAMIWalks Chattanooga, presented By BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee, will take place at Coolidge Park on Sunday afternoon, Oct. 4.  To join, visit NamiWalks.org/Chattanooga.

Funds raised through NAMIWalks support NAMI’s mission of education, advocacy, support and public awareness, helping individuals and families affected by mental health conditions access the resources they need.
