The summer window is approaching its final fortnight as Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United, Liverpool and Tottenham all work hard on further new signings. Arsenal have held talks over a shock deal for Victor Osimhen after offering Galatasaray Gabriel Martinelli and Ethan Nwaneri, while the Gunners are also now pursuing Jarell Quansah having revisited their interest in Ezri Konsa and agreed terms with Liverpool striker Vincent Joseph.
Chelsea’s deadline for Enzo Fernandez bids has now passed, with Manchester City and Real Madrid both weighing up moves that will cost £120million. The Blues are also being linked with Arsenal midfielders Myles Lewis-Skelly and Martin Zubimendi, while Manchester United may have been offered a boost in their pursuit of Lewis Hall as they also target Eduardo Camavinga. Liverpool are understood to have paused negotiations over Bradley Barcola, while PSG team-mate Ibrahim Mbaye has been deemed as too expensive.
Tottenham are still pushing for Savinho and Cody Gakpo amid Folarin Balogun links as Cristian Romero and Djed Spence complete their exits, while West Ham hope to seal a move for Arsenal’s Reiss Nelson as Celtic midfielder Arne Engels undergoes a medical, and Barcelona bid again for Rodri. Arsenal may have been handed a boost in their pursuit of Julian Alvarez, with Barcelona considering potential alternatives.
Alvarez, who reported back to Atletico Madrid this week after representing Argentina at the World Cup, has been Barcelona's top transfer target all summer, with the player having repeatedly voiced his desire to move to the Camp Nou.
However, Atletico continue to insist that Alvarez striker is not for sale - and especially not to a rival in LaLiga.
It would appear that Barcelona have finally got the message, amid reports they are looking at other options in the event that Atletico do not change their stance on the 26-year-old.

Manchester City have been busy today, even if they’ve not been able to meet Chelsea’s deadline for Enzo Fernandez.
The club have confirmed that young defender Max Alleyne will spend the season on loan at Burnley, a move that will aid his first-team development.

Chelsea look set to keep Enzo Fernandez at Stamford Bridge after the transfer deadline they set for a potential exit expired.
Standard Sport reported previously that the Blues had put a strict deadline of 5pm BST on Friday, August 14 for any bids to be submitted for the Argentine midfielder.

Rather, the sale of Finley Burns has been announced with the 23-year-old joining Wigan on a permanent transfer.
