There doesn’t appear to be a lot of physical switchgear, not uncommon these days despite what most of us think about such decisions. A big screen sits ahead of the driver, with a small(-ish) tablet mounted vertically between the front seats for what appears to be ventilation and comfort controls. A taskbar of icons does include a speaker, so perhaps touching that part of the screen calls up infotainment controls in place of the ones shown here. Controls on the steering wheel spokes appear to be of the non-button type.

It does seem that at least someone is listening to and actually heeding feedback inside the halls of Jaguar, as the familiar and brand-appropriate ‘leaping cat’ makes its rightful return, and now appears on key interior trim pieces.

Jag, if you’re listening, this is a good move; we get that the Type 01 is meant to redefine the brand for its EV era, but not everything from one’s past need be relegated to the dustbin of history. Some items and identity from a different era, like the leaping logo, can serve to provide positive distinction for the future, especially one intended to focus on “high-concept” yet low-volume cars.

A prototype of the Type 01 will be shown at Monterey Car Week over the next few days in California, sporting a new wrap compared to the other hues shown so far. Those jonesing to see a production variant of the car won’t have long to wait—Jaguar says it will be showing off the actual machine on October 6.
